Knowledge
Research, expertise and practical agricultural information.
What We Do
Our projects enable farmers and ecosystem partners to test ideas, solve challenges and build what works.
What We Do
Research, expertise and practical agricultural information.
Enable access to grants, financing and funding opportunities.
Enable ideas and technologies to reach real agricultural challenges.
Enable pathways toward new commercial and market opportunities.
Workshops, field experiences, education and knowledge-sharing.
Farmers, researchers, businesses, educators, innovators and communities.
We bring kids and young people onto working farms for hands-on experiences with farming, food, business and innovation, helping the next generation understand where food comes from and see agriculture as a modern career and opportunity.

We showcase promising agricultural technologies and practices happening across BC, taking farmers and organizations beyond reports and presentations to see innovation working firsthand in greenhouses, fields, farms, labs and controlled growing environments.

Canada grows a globally important blueberry crop, but the next round of gains won't come from doing more of the same. Farmers need better evidence, shared innovation and stronger collaboration to keep improving yield, quality and returns.
GRIS is coordinating a pilot that enables growers to access researchers, technology partners and industry, bringing evidence and innovation directly to the field rather than leaving it in reports and presentations.
Growers, research partners and industry collaborators are working together, with the BC Blueberry Council and advisory experts helping guide the direction of the work.
Practical approaches to improving fruit quality, yield consistency and sustainable practices under real growing conditions.
Field-level indicators that matter to farmers, quality, consistency and the practical viability of the practices being trialled.
The pilot is actively underway. Insights are being gathered and shared with the ecosystem as the work progresses.
Improving consistency of yield and fruit quality through better evidence, data and field practices.
Reducing inputs and environmental impact while keeping farms productive and profitable.
Capturing more value by moving suitable production from processed streams toward higher-value fresh markets.
If successful, the pilot is expected to produce practical, evidence-based insights that growers can apply, supporting better quality, more consistent yields and a stronger case for innovation and collaboration across the sector. These outcomes are anticipated and will be shared as the work continues.
