Event: Back to Farms! – Blueberry U-Pick & Farm Learning Experience
Location: Highland Farms, 3330 224 St., Langley, BC
Date: Sep 5, 2026

We are excited to welcome families to the farm for a hands-on opportunity for children to learn about farming, blueberries, harvesting, farm business and agricultural innovation.

1. Understanding & Assumption of Risk

I understand that this is an active working farm and that participation may involve naturally occurring and unavoidable risks, including but not limited to uneven or slippery ground, plants, branches, farm equipment, tools, insects and bees, allergies, heat or weather conditions, picking activities, minor cuts or scrapes, falls, and other risks associated with being on a farm.

I have explained these risks to my child and believe that my child is able to participate safely. I understand that participation is voluntary and that I am responsible for supervising my child unless otherwise advised by GRIS Canada staff.

2. Responsibility & Release

I agree that my child and I will follow all reasonable safety instructions provided by GRIS Canada, the farm owner/operator and event volunteers, remain within designated areas, and not touch or operate farm equipment unless specifically permitted.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, I agree to assume the ordinary and inherent risks of participating in this farm experience and release and hold harmless GRIS Canada, its directors, officers, volunteers, organizers, representatives, and the participating farm owner/operator from claims arising from those ordinary and inherent risks, except to the extent caused by their negligence or other liability that cannot legally be excluded.

I also agree to take reasonable responsibility for my child’s conduct and any loss or damage caused by my child’s intentional or negligent actions.

3. Emergency Medical Consent

If my child requires first aid or emergency medical attention, I authorize GRIS Canada/event personnel to seek appropriate emergency assistance when I cannot be reached immediately. I understand that I am responsible for providing accurate information about my child’s allergies, medical needs or other relevant concerns.

4. Photography & Media Consent

I give GRIS Canada permission to photograph or video my child during the event and to use those images/video for GRIS Canada’s educational, promotional, social media, website, fundraising, community outreach and project showcase purposes, without compensation.

I understand that my child’s name will not be publicly associated with an image unless separately authorized.

YES, I consent to photography/video use.

5. Acknowledgment

By signing below, I confirm that I have read and understood this form, have had the opportunity to ask questions, and voluntarily consent to my child participating in the GRIS Canada farm learning experience.
